Xochi Cartland


Xochi Cartland is a sophomore student at Brown University studying Hispanic Studies and Literary Arts. Originally from DC, she is an ESL teacher, a writer, and does social justice advocacy work in the Providence community.


What will you be presenting on? The first Thanksgiving after my Mom and Dad separated my Mom really really wanted to make a traditional Thanksgiving meal - and god it went horribly wrong. This story, though, has a happy ending.

Best piece of advice you ever got about cooking: Cooking is 80% heart

If you could only eat one meal forever, it would be: Ribs, mac & cheese, and corn

Favorite food: Flan
