“I'm a second-year undergraduate at Brown University studying computer science and literary arts. When I'm not writing code, you can find me writing about food. I'm interested in how food forges identity: physical, gendered, cultural, political. You can find some of the things I've been tasting (food & fiction) on my blog, cocoa dragon (cocoa-dragon.tumblr.com)”
What will you be presenting on? Some sweet & savory thoughts about self and family through medium of noodles
Best piece of advice you ever got about cooking: Don't be afraid to taste it. A lot.
If you could only eat one meal forever, it would be: Gou ju pai fai, a Cantonese dish of pan-fried pork braised in tomato sauce, layered over rice and cheddar cheese, then baked until the rice is crisp and the cheese is golden
Favorite food: Half-melted ice cream with an aggressive amount of cookie dough, cold apples, warm mulberries, chocolate so dark it's bitter, sourdough slathered in butter, brussel sprouts, scrambled eggs with goat cheese, plums. Not necessarily in that order.
