One sentence to describe yourself and where you came from: I once accidentally introduced myself to a group by saying "I am America." I meant "American," but I think the former is most appropriate.

What will you be presenting on? I'll be pairing a typical West African cassava leaf stew with my poem "Forrest Gump" which begins with the family eating it.

Best piece of advice you ever got about cooking: Preparing vegetables is all about cut and timing

If you could only eat one meal forever, it would be: some kind of Western or Southern African stew & starch

Favorite food: Cassava Leaf Stew (picking up on a theme)

Recommended reading: Kitchen by Banana Yoshimoto

Best meals: The ones I get to feed to others

Food you’d like to try: My cousin had a quail egg shot for New Years? Sounds fun.
