Nafis White & García Sinclair

Nafis White and García Sinclair are an art couple and collaborative whose art practice spans 17 years with the last 5 years at RISD, where they both received their BFA and then MFA in 2015 and 2018. Both White & Sinclair have an exceptionally diverse studio practice and use sculpture, performance, collage, photography, video, installation and site specific works to explore issues of identity, equality, memory, archive, aesthetics and climate, both political and social. Nafis and García have won three site-specific commissions in Rhode Island from the RISD Museum beginning in 2012, and have been invited to travel to other states to curate site-specific works for the Children’s Defense Fund in Washington D.C. and Tennessee. They continue to create art together exploring themes of love, queerness, community and activism.

If you could only eat one meal forever, it would be: We both love García's 5 cheese gluten free mac and cheese with béchamel sauce. One meal, this would be it! Cheese choices are infinite!
